OK Go – This Too Shall Pass

This takes the ‘mouse trap’ style video to the extreme. Directed by James Frost, OK Go and Syyn Labs. Produced by Shirley Moyers. The official video for the recorded version of “This Too Shall Pass” off of the album “Of the Blue Colour of the Sky”. The video was filmed in a two story warehouse, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, CA. The “machine” was designed and built by the band, along with members of Syyn Labs over the course of several months.

Killing In The Name: Bought

WARNING! Video not safe for work – contains naughty words.

I’ve put my money where my mouth is – all 99p of it. I just downloaded Rage Against The Machine’s ‘Killing In The Name’ as part of the push to get it to the Christmas No 1 spot. The Facebook page is now at 763,191 members! The song takes me back to my early teenage angst years – amazing.

Rage Against the X-Factor

renegades

You’ve probably heard a bit about the Facebook campaign to get Rage Against the Machine to the Christmas number one spot. There’s few bands I would rather listen to on Christmas day. So I’m giving it my full support. Join the Facebook campaign now – they’re nearly at the 500,000 mark! Read more about it in Mark Steel’s Independent column.

Dark Was The Night

61AQVTRSYUL

Dark Was The Night is a pretty sweet compilation album featuring tracks from the likes of Bon Iver, Yeasayer, Spoon, Arcade Fire, Beirut, My Morning Jaket and loads more. All to benefit Red Hot Organization, a charity that has been bringing raising money for AIDS for 20 years. The Red Hot records usually revolve around unusual collaborations, and this newest effort keeps the tradition alive.

“This being a compilation, not everyone brings their A game, but as a yearbook photo of the class of 2009, it should age remarkably well.” – The Onion (A.V. Club)

As and added bonus the album artwork is very nice too.

Check it out on Spotify: Dark Was The Night

Mother And The Addicts

Mother and the Addicts

You know when you listen to a new band and really like them? Then you see a photo of the band and emmm? …we’ll this is a perfect example. The music is good so I shouldn’t let aesthetics put me off. Plus the big image shows off the new super phat blog design, thats right phat with ‘PH’!

There’s two of their tracks in my latest Spotify Playlist Keeble’s Choise Noise Vol. 2 or you can check out their My Space which always wants to make my feeble G4 crash.
